Luxury Boarding Kennels And Cattery

We recognise that leaving your dog or cat while on holiday, out for the day, away on business, during hospitalisation, or in an emergency can be difficult and worrying.

All staff caring for your dog or cat are trained with relevant qualifications and the Tudor Lodge ethos, to ensure every dog and cat staying with us, is our top priority.

One-to-one time for each beloved pet, based on their need, is part of our service. Talking to them, playing with them, loving and fussing with them or just letting them have their own space is key to our success in making every dog and cat stay with us a personalised service.

Security and insurance

The safety and security of all dogs and cats whilst staying at Tudor Lodge kennels and cattery is of the utmost importance to us and our customers.

The kennels and cattery are located behind and surrounded by high fencing with secure locking systems. Individual kennel and cattery blocks also have their own security locks inside and outside. The business is housed on our own land meaning there is a 24/7 presence. At night, the gates to the premises are closed and any access to the kennels and cattery is restricted.

We have a full set of policies and procedures in line with The Animal Welfare Regulations 2018 which include infection control, administration of medication, rules around cleaning the kennels and cattery and safe products to use.

We are licensed and inspected by Basildon Council. License number A01003931, Environmental Health Services, The Animal Welfare (licensing of activities involving animals) (England) Regulations 2018. We have been awarded 5 stars out of a possible 5. License for activities involving animals, providing or arranging for the provision of boarding for a maximum of 60 dogs and 28 cats.

Tudor Lodge kennels and cattery insurance provides cover for your pets in the unlikely event of any incident occurring during their stay with us. Levels of veterinary cover, public liability cover and employers’ liability insurance cover are displayed in our kennel office to give you peace of mind.

The Team

Dr Angie Reyner

Proprietor Tudor Lodge

I have owned and run Tudor Lodge kennels and cattery since 2007. I have really enjoyed facing all the challenges head on, as well as growing the business and meeting some amazing pet owners, some of which have become dear friends. I own, have bred and trained working cocker spaniels since 2008. I have a passion for the gundog community. My passion and love of dogs changed my 17 year career as a food scientist to a proud owner of a kennels and cattery. It is because of this history that I have a passion for food and nutrition in dogs. As well as a PHD in food science, I hold qualifications in animal first aid, animal management and dog behaviour.

Rachael Chapman

Rachael has lived with dogs all her life. She loves working for the family business, enjoys all aspects of animal care. She has her own Cocker Spaniel called Bentley that she has looked after and trained since birth.

Rachael really loves kennel life and is always happy to help and share her vast experience.

Alison Foster, MBA

Alison joined our kennel team to focus on the administration side of business. In addition, she supports with meeting customers, completing bookings, answering the phone, and supports in a hands-on role with the animals when needed. Alison has a level 3 award in animal management and a level 3 award in cattery management.

Lea Kelly

Lea started at Tudor Lodge as a work experience student. She loved every second of it and was over the moon when we offered her a position within the team. Lea loves all the dogs and cats that come into our care and enjoys making their stay the very best they’ve had. Lea holds a level 2 & 3 advanced technical certificate in animal management. She is also currently studying canine nutrition.

Dannie Wheatley

Dannie is a lifelong animal lover, previously she has worked with dogs, specifically greyhounds. She holds level 2, 3 and 4 certificates in advanced animal care, animal psychology and animal physio. Dannie is very interested in dog behaviour, but mostly just loves animals.

Rhianna Moore

I work weekends at the kennels. I’ve been working with all sorts of animals since I was 11 but have always loved dogs and cats. I have a cat named Bebe and a bearded dragon named Azzie and am hoping to get a Saint Bernard and a Staffie in the future. I studied animal management at college completing a level 3 advanced technical diploma in animal management and have continued that path to university where I am doing a BSc honours in Animal Management (Zoo and wildlife conservation).

Isabella Oxborrow

I am passionate about animals and always knew I wanted to work with them. I qualified in level 3 animal management in 2023 and during that time completed work experience with Tudor lodge. I was delighted to be invited back to work with the team and now work regular shifts. At home I have dogs, cats and a hedgehog. My favourite dog is a golden retriever.
